Carbon Shrinker

A browser-based file compression platform for your whole organisation: video, image, PDF, document and audio compression that runs on each person's own device, with company-wide carbon and cost-savings dashboards.

Never worse than the original

We won't compress a file unnecessarily. If we can't make a file smaller, we leave it alone.

Company-wide dashboards

Carbon and cost-savings dashboards for your whole organisation, so you can see what compression saves.

On each person's own device

Video, image, PDF, document and audio compression that runs in the browser, on each person's own device.

Cloud Connect

Connect your own Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, or Box account and Carbon Shrinker automatically compresses files already stored there. No manual upload needed.

Cloud Auto-Compression

The real-time version of Cloud Connect: the moment a file lands in your connected Microsoft 365, Google Drive, Dropbox, or Box storage, it's compressed automatically in the background. Set up once, no ongoing action needed.

Your files

How your files are handled

Compressing in the browser. When you compress a file, we log only the file type and the before and after size, so your dashboard can show real savings. The file itself is never uploaded to us for this: compression runs entirely on your own device.

Cloud Connect and Cloud Auto-Compression. If your company chooses to connect its own Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Box or SharePoint account, files from the one folder you connect are downloaded to our server, compressed, written back, and the temporary copy is deleted immediately. This is the one part of Carbon Shrinker where file content passes through our servers, and only for companies that have chosen these services.

As described in Carbon Shrinker's Privacy Notice.
